لوگ ہمارے ٹھٹھے کا نشانہ ضرور ہیں مگر وہ بیوقوف ہر گزنہیں

عوام کی لاعلمی ظاہر کرنے کی کوشش میں میڈیا کا رپورٹر گھوم پھر کر لوگوں سے پوچھ رہا تھا کہ ہم 23مارچ کا دن کیوں مناتے ہیں۔یہ لوگوں کا مذاق اڑانے کا ایک انداز بھی ہو سکتا ہے۔لوگ لا علم اور ان پڑھ تو ہو سکتے ہیں مگر وہ احمق بالکل نہیں ہیں۔تعلیم یافتہ لوگوں کا کیا کہنا جب کہ پڑھے لکھے اور ان پڑھ دونوں طرح کے لوگ ایک ہی قسم کی قیادت کو ووٹ دیتے ہیں۔قومی ادارے کم فہم عوام الناس نہیں چلاتے۔ان اداروں کو سرکاری افسرشاہی، فوجی افسران، ڈاکٹر، انجنیئر، سائنس دان،پی ایچ ڈی ماہر، تعلیمی ماہرین، کاروباری افراد، اسمبلی ممبران اور صحافیوں جیسے پڑھے لکھے لوگ چلاتے ہیں۔میگا کرپشن اور نا اہلی کا ارتکاب بھی پڑھے لکھے لوگ کرتے ہیں کم عقل عوام نہیں۔اس سے کیا فرق پڑتا ہے کہ ایک شخص کو 23مارچ اور 6ستمبر کا بھی پتہ ہے اور وہ ملک کی لوٹ مار میں بھی ملوث ہے۔اس کے برعکس اگر کسی کو 23مارچ کی اہمیت کا اندازہ نہیں مگر وہ ایماندار ہے، محنتی ہےاور قانون کا پاس کرنے والا شہری ہے تو یقیناً وہ ایک بہتر انسان ہے
تباہ حال قوموں کی علامتوں کا بڑا چرچا کیا جاتا ہے۔ہم بڑے شہروں میں قومی دنوں کے منانےپر یوں اتراتے ہیں جیسےہم نے بڑا کارنامہ سر انجام دیا ہو۔پاکستان کی 80فیصد آبادی جو ہر روز اپنی بقا کے لئے جدو جہدکرتی ہے اس کے لئے ان دنوں کی اہمیت اپنی بقا کے ہر کٹھن دن کے برابر ہے۔
کل مجھے راولپنڈی کی ایک فرنیچر مارکیٹ میں جانے کا اتفاق ہوا جہاں غلاظت کے ڈھیروں سے اٹے ہوئے نالے کے کنارے تین بچے کھیل رہے تھے اور قریب ہی ان کا باپ رندے سے لکڑی کو ہموار اور ملائم کرنے میں جُتا ہوا تھا جبکہ اُس کی اور اُس کے بچوں کی زندگی بدبو اور تعفن سے معمور تھی۔جب میں نے اس علاقے کے ایک باسی سے پوچھا کہ اس نالے کی صفائی کیوں نہیں کی جاتی تو اس نے بتایا کہ پچھلی مرتبہ بلدیاتی انتخابات کے موقع پر اس نالے کی صفائی کی گئی تھی اور ہمارا اندازہ ہے کہ اگلی مرتبہ اس کی صفائی 2018 ء میں ہونے والے انتخابات کے موقع پر کی جائے گی۔میں نے جلدی جلدی چند تصویریں اتاریں اور اس علاقے سے بھاگ نکلا کیونکہ بد بو کی وجہ سے مجھے سانس لینے میں دقت ہو رہی تھی۔مگر اس علاقے میں رہائش پذیر لوگ روز مرّہ زندگی گذارنے پر مجبور ہیں۔اگر اس علاقے میں ہم لوگوں سے 23مارچ کی اہمیت کا پوچھ کر ہم ان کا ٹھٹھہ اڑائیں گے تو کیا یہ اچھا مذاق ہوگا؟
ایوان وزیر اعظم اور سپریم کورٹ کے پندرہ بیس کلو میٹر دور بسنے والے راولپنڈی میں عام لوگوں کی زندگی اس قدر اجیرن ہے تو دور دراز علاقوں کا تصّور کریں کہ وہاں زندگی کیسی ہو گی جہاں پینے کا صاف پانی نہیں ملتا ہے، غیر صحتمند غذا کھائی جاتی ہے، صحت اور تعلیم کی نا گفتہ بہ سہولیات میسر ہیں۔ناکافی ضروریات زندگی اور بنیادی انسانی حقوق سے محرومی ان لوگوں کا مقدر ہے۔ہمارے پڑھے لکھے حضرات قومی ایّام، سی پیک، اورنج ٹرین، میٹرو بس، موٹر ویز اور فلک بوس عمارات کا جشن مناتے پھیریں جب کہ معاشی نا ہمواری اور نا انصافی کی شکار 80فیصد آبادی کی محرومیاں جاری رہیں گی۔
یہ لوگ بیوقوف ہر گز نہیں مگر ہماری تضحیک کے نشانے پر ہیں۔
They are not Idiot, they are our laughing stock

Media Channels reporter going around and asking ” why we celebrate 23 March and public ignorance not knowing it, is all about laughing and ridiculing these people. We may call them idiot, they may be illiterate or ignorant but what about those people who are well educated? Both type of people have similar choice of vote and leadership. Institutions are not run by these idiots, institutions are run by educated lot like bureaucrats,defense officers, doctors, Engineers, Scientists, PhDs, educationist, businessmen, parliamentarians, and even journalist. Mega corruption & incompetence both come from educated ones not from these idiots. What difference does it make if somebody knows about the significance of 23 March or 6 Sep, and same person is plundering the country. On the contrary, somebody does not know significance of 23 March but he is honest, hardworking and law abiding citizen, such a person is still a better choice. 23 Mar, 6 Sep, 14 Aug, 25 Dec are symbolics, if we have lost true & practical meaning of these days in our daily life, yet we Know the historical background of these days, it’s no good.
Nations once destroyed are more keen on symbols, we, by celebrating a few national days, celebrated at few major urban areas, assume we have done something marvellous. These days are no significant to 80% population of Pakistan who is struggling every day to survive, for them it was one more day of struggle & survival.
Yesterday I went to a furniture market in Rawalpindi, I saw heaps of garbage blocking the big drain Nallah and three beautiful children playing next to it and their father working on smoothening wood while his life and his children’s life is not smooth by any standards, rather it is full of filth and stink. I asked a local why it is not cleaned, he told me last time it was cleaned, it was local body elections and he hoped it would be cleaned again in next elections in 2018.I took a few pictures and immediately left the area as I could not breathe in that stink. This is the area where they live and survive every day. Now if we go to such people and ask them about 23 March and laugh at them, It might be a good comedy to laugh at.
Rawalpindi is 15-20 km from PM house and Supreme Court of Pakistan, if life is so pathetic for ordinary people here, imagine what it might be in far flung areas. Unsafe drinking water, unhygienic food, no or negligible health & education facility, negligible basic civic amenities and no basic human rights is their fate.
Our educated ones can celebrate national days, CPEC, Orange train, Metro, motorways and high rise while suffering of 80 % will continue amid injustice & Inequalities.
These people are not idiots, yes they are our laughing stock.
