سرکاری اور پرائیویٹ سیکٹر، گورنروں، چیف منسٹروں ، صدر اور وزیر اعظم کو چاہئے کہ اُسے بلائیں اور انعام و اکرام دئیے جائیں۔محمد وسیم جو فلائی ویٹ باکسنگ میں دنیا کا نمبر ون باکسر ہے اور اس وقت پاکستان کا واحد سپورٹس مین ہے جو دنیا میں پہلی پوزیشن پر فائز ہے۔کیا آپ نے کبھی اُس کے بارے سنا؟کیا آپ نے اُس کے بارے کبھی بات کی؟ کیا آپ نے کبھی اُسے سراہا؟ کبھی اُسے کوئی اعزارزدیا؟ کیا وہ آپ کی سوچوں کا محور ہے؟ ان تمام باتوں کا جواب ہے ایک بڑی سی”نہ”۔
ہمارے میڈیا کے ٹاک شوز میں بہت سا وقت ان چہروں کو دکھانے پر ضائع کر دیا جاتا ہے جو ہمیں محبوب نہیں۔آخر وہ پاکستان کے اُس سپورٹس مین کے بارے بات کیوں نہیں کرتے جو اِس وقت دنیا میں پہلے نمبر پر ہے۔وہ اُس کے بارے اس لئے بات نہیں کرتے کیونکہ انہیں اُس کی کامیابی کی داستان کا ادراک نہیں۔ہمارے میڈیا کو معاشرے کے کان اور آنکھیں ہو نا چاہیے مگر وہ تو خود دوسری کی نقل کرنےمیں مشغول ہیں۔وہ ہر اگلا قدم اٹھانے سے پہلے ایک دوسرے کی طرف دیکھتے ہیں۔
ہمیں اپنے ہیروز کو پہچاننے میں کوتاہی کی وجہ ہماری تھکی ہاری ذہنی سوچ ہے۔ہم بنیادی طور پر خوشامدی ہیں، ہم موقع سے فائدہ اٹھاتے ہیں، ہمیں چمک دمک کے علاوہ کچھ نظر نہیں آتا۔ ہم مکھی پر مکھی مارنے والی قوم ہیں۔ایک باکسر کوآشکار کرنے کے لئےکونوں کھدروں میں کی جانے والی ہمت افزائی قومی ٹیم کے معمولی سے کرکٹرکو ملنے والی شہرت، سر پرستی اور امداد کے مقابلے میں کچھ بھی نہیں۔مصباح الحق کے مختصر کامیاب دور کے علاوہ ہماری قومی کرکٹ ٹیم کی کارکردگی عالمی ٹیسٹ کرکٹ, ون ڈے اور ٹی ٹونٹی مقابلوں میں سب سے کم تر رہی ۔اس کے باوجود ہمارے کرکٹروں پر داد و تحسین کے ڈونگرے برسائے جاتے ہیں۔ محمد وسیم جیسا دنیا کا نمبرون باکسر بننے کے باوجود کہیں کہیں نظر آتا ھے
The real heroes are not in cricket anymore, real hero is in boxing – Muhammad Waseem is the only World Number one sportsman of Pakistan.

He should be invited and awarded by PM, President, all CMs, Governors, public and private sector. He is Mohammad Waseem, world number one boxer in flyweight and only Pakistani sportsman who holds number 1 position in the world today. Did you hear about him? Did you talk about him? Did you acknowledge him? Did you reward him? Do you idolise him? Answer to all these questions is a big “NO”.
Our media Talk Shows are spending (wasting) time with majority of useless faces on television screens who are not our choice. Why can’t they talk about only World Number 1 Sportsman of Pakistan. They cannot talk about him because it requires a vision even to recognise a success story. Our media is supposed to be eyes and ears of society but their eye sight is all about copying from each other. They watch each other to take the next step.
Our lack of ability to recognize our heroes comes from our heartless mindset. We are basically sycophant. We make hay while the sun shines. We don’t see beyond glitter, we are a nation of cut n paste.
Negligible support and highlighting the boxer in some corners is no where near to promotion, incentive, sponsorship granted to an ordinary cricketer in national team. Our cricket team is at the bottom of world cricket since years with the exception of Misbah Ul Haq brief success tenure in test cricket, yet all laurels are dedicated to cricketers.
