ریمنڈ ڈیوس کا پاکستان پر دوسرا وار
آئییےہتھوڑے کو الزام دینے کی بجائے معاملے کے اندرنظر دوڑائیں

ریمنڈ ڈیوس کی کتاب پر پاکستان میں دو قسم کے رد عمل سامنے آئے ہیں۔پہلا رد عمل تو بہت سادہ اورآسان ہے کہ سازشی نظریہ کے نام پرامریکہ کو مورد الزام ٹھہرا دو اور مزے سے بیٹھ کو دوسروں کو الزام دیتے رہو۔دوسرے رد عمل کا لب لباب یہ ہے کہ سیاست دانوں کی طرح فوج بھی برابر کی بد عنوان ہے اورمفاہمت کر لیتی ہے۔دونوں رد عمل دو انتہاؤں کی طرح متضاد ہیں اور ہمیشہ کی طرح ہماری قوم کے لئے دو متضاد باتوں میں امتیاز کرنا ہمیشہ مشکل ہوجاتا ہے۔
بیانیے گھڑنا اور تصوراتی نظریئے تخلیق کرنا جدید جنگی چال ہے اور جو ممالک اس جنگی ہتھیار سے لیس نہیں وہ اس محاذ پر جنگ شروع ہونے سے پہلے ہی ہار جاتی ہے۔
پہلا رد عمل ہمارا عمومی معاشرتی رویّہ ہے کہ معاملے کی تہہ تک جائے بغیر امریکہ، بھارت، افغانستان، سی آئی اے، راء، موساد اور ایران پر الزام لگا دیا جائے۔ہمارے رویّوں کا اندازہ ان سوالات سے لگائیں کہ یہ کتاب اتنی سستی کیوں ہے؟یہ کتاب انٹر نیٹ پر دستیاب کیوں ہے؟یہ کتاب گھٹیا ہے تو ہم ریمنڈ ڈیوس کی پذیرائی کیوں کر رہے ہیں؟ ہمیں اس کتاب سے چِڑ کیوں ہے؟ اگر فرض کر لیا جائے کہ اس میں کئے جانے والے سارے دعوے درست ہیں تو پھر سوال یہ ہے کہ اس واقعہ سے ہم نے کیا سبق حاصل کیا؟
اس واقعہ نے چند سال قبل ہمارے ماتھے پر ذلت کا کلنک لگایا تھا جس سے ہم اب بھی خوف زدہ ہیں۔کیا یہ کلنک مٹ گیا؟ کیا کسی ادارے نے اس واقعے کی ٹوہ لگانے کی کوشش کی؟کون نہیں جانتاکہ ریمنڈ ڈیوس کی رہائی کے لئے سول اور عسکری قیادت باہم شیرو شکر تھیں؟ریمنڈ ڈیوس کی کتاب تو محض ہمارے ماضی کے سیاہ باب کی یاد تازہ کرنےکے لئے لکھی گئی جس سے اس جگ ہنسائی میں کوئی اضافہ نہیں ہوا۔ریمنڈ ڈیوس کا بے شک یقین نہ کریں مگر اپنی قیادت کے ہاتھوں ملنے والی رسوائی پر ملنے والے سبق سے اپنی آنکھوں اور کانوں کو بند نہ کریں۔
پرانا اقوال زرّیں ہے کہ یہ نہ دیکھیں کو ن کہہ رہا ہے بلکہ دیکھیں وہ کیا کہہ رہا ہے۔اس قول سے ہمیں سچ جاننے کے لئے تقویت حاصل ہوتی ہے۔سچ کا کھوج لگانےاور سچ پر ڈٹ جانے کا فرق ہمیں جانناچاہئے۔سول حکومتوں کو تاراج کرنے،ناکام فوجی مہمات، کنگز پارٹیاں بنانے، ڈکٹیٹر شپ اور کرپشن کے فروغ کےلئے ہمارے فوج کے استعمال ہونےکا طویل ماضی ہے۔ کیا اس طرح کی پرانی غلطیوں کا ذمہ دار بھی ریمنڈ ڈیوس یا اُس کی کتاب ہے؟ریمنڈ ڈیوس کا بھی ایک ماضی ہے، ہماری فوج اور سیاستدانوں کا بھی ماضی ہے اور یہ دونوں اتنے شاندار نہیں۔ ہمیں ریمنڈ ڈیوس کے ماضی کی وجہ سے اُس پر یقین کرلینے کی کوئی ضرورت نہیں۔لیکن کیا ہمارے عسکری اور سیاسی رہنماؤں کے سیاہ ماضی کے باجود اُن پر اعتبار کرتے رہنا چاہئے؟ ہمارے رویّے ہمارے تضاد کا ثبوت ہیں۔ہم سطحی سوچ کے مالک سہی پھر بھی معاملات کی گہرائی میں جانے کا بہتر راستہ ہمیشہ موجود رہتا ہے۔ہماری انا اورہمارا اڑیل پن ہمارے معاملا ت کی تہہ تک جانے میں حائل رہتے ہیں۔ہمارا تاریک ترین ماضی ہے جس کو فراموش کردینے کی بجائے اُس سے سبق حاصل کرنا چاہئے۔
اگر سچ کو چھپایا گیا تو ریمنڈ ڈیوس کی کتاب جیسی اشاعتیں اور تبصرہ جات سے ہم مشکوک ہو جائیں گے۔جدید ڈیجٹل دور میں سچ کو چھپا بھی نہیں سکتے۔جوں جوں ہم حقیقت کو چھپاتے جائیں گے ہم زیادہ مشکوک ہوتے جائیں گے۔ایک زمانہ تھا جب کسی کتاب کا پاکستان میں داخلہ روکا جاتا تھا مگر اب یہ چھوٹے سےجدید آلات سے منٹوں میں لاکھوں لوگوں کے پاس پہنچ جاتی ہے۔دوسروں پر الزام تھوپنے یا جھوٹے بہانوں سے سچ سے جان نہ چھڑائیں۔یہ طرز عمل نہ ماضی میں ہمارے کا م آیا نہ مستقبل میں ہمارے لئے کار گر ہوگا۔سچ کا سامنا کریں، اسے تسلیم کریں، مسائل کا حل تلاش کریں اور آگے بڑھنے کے لئے سبق حاصل کریں۔ہمارے سیاستدان، عسکری ادارہ، افسر شاہی اور عدلیہ کی اکثریت کرپٹ ہے۔اداروں کو تنقید سے بچا کر ان کی تحفظ نہیں کیا جا سکتا بلکہ ان کا ان کا احتساب کرنے اور ان پر نقطہ چینی سے ان کی بقا ممکن ہے۔
دوسری قسم کا رد عمل کچھ اداروں کو متبرک قرار دینے کا قدرتی نتیجہ ہے۔ عسکری اداروں پر ہلکی سی تنقید سے عسکری ا اداروں کو کوئی گزند نہیں پہنچتی بلکہ وہ تھوڑی دیر کے لئے پہلے سے زیادہ توانا ہو جاتے ہیں ۔ہماری فوج نے کئی اور بھی کارنامے سر انجام دئیے ہیں۔ ان میں سب سے بڑھ کر یہ کہ دشمنوں کے ارادوں اور خواہشت کے باوجود ہم ابھی تک شام، مصر، لیبیا، عراق اور افغانستان نہیں بن سکے۔ہمیں ہتھوڑے کو الزام نہیں دینا چاہئے کیونکہ ہتھوڑے کا تو کام ہی ضرب لگا نا ہوتا ہے۔ہمیں یہ سیکھنا چاہئے کہ اس ضرب سے کیسے بچنا ہے اور جوابی وار کیسے کرنا ہے۔
Reymond Davis hits Pakistan for the second time. Let’s not blame the hammer, let’s look inside.

Reymond Davis book has drawn two types of reactions in Pakistan;
One is the convenient and simple one, let’s blame America for conspiracy theory and sit back under the comfort of shifting blame on others.
Second type of reaction concludes that “Military is equally corrupt and compromised like Politicians”.
Both reactions are two extreme ends, our nation has always found it difficult to perceive things less than such extreme positions.
Narrative building and perception creation is component of modern warfare. Countries not being able to use these new frontiers of warfare will lose the war even before it starts.
The first type of reaction is our social attitude, instead of looking inside, blame America, India, Afghanistan, CIA, RAW, Mossad and Iran. Just imagine our attitudes, by raising questions like; Why this book is so cheap?Why the book is downloadable on internet? The book is third class? Are we promoting Reymond Davis? Let’s assume all these assertions are 100% true. Is there anything else for us to learn from the incident, and not from the book, if we are too allergic to book?
The black mark of disgrace, the incident left behind a few years ago, still should haunt us. Is the black mark washed? Did any institution in Pakistan gave the run down of incident? Who did not know that military and Civil leadership collaborated to release Reymond Davis?
Reymond Davis book just refreshes a chapter of disgrace from our history, it does not add anything. Don’t believe Reymond Davis, but don’t close your eyes and ears to learn the disgrace gifted by our leadership.
Don’t look who is talking, see what he is talking is an old theory of wisdom which allows us to explore truth. Exploring truth is not believing truth, we must know the difference.
Our military history has a long list of misadventures, toppling civilian government, military misadventures, creating Kings party, dictatorship and corruption. Is Reymond Davis or his book responsible for such a past.
Reymond Davis has a past, our military & politicians also have a past, both are not remarkable. We don’t want to believe Reymond Davis because of his past, should we believe military & politician because of their past? Our attitudes are evidence of our contrasts. We might be shallow, but diving deeper is always an option and a better option. Only barrier to diving deeper is our attitude of ego & stubbornness.
There is a rotten past behind us, of which lessons must be learnt not forgotten.
Concealing truth will allow Reymond Davis type of publications & posts to get attention and make us doubtful.
We cannot hide truth in the modern digital age. The more we hide, the more we make us suspicious. There was a time that a book could be banned in Pakistan, now it reaches to millions on a small gadget in minutes and seconds.
Don’t brush aside the truth under lame excuses or blaming others, it hasn’t helped us in the past, it won’t help us in the future.
Face the truth, accept the truth, find the solution, draw the lessons is the way forward.
Our politician, military establishment, civil bureaucracy and judiciary, majority of them are corrupt. Institutions are not preserved by shielding them from criticism, they are saved by criticising them and making them accountable.
Second type of reaction is natural outcome of making few institutions as holy cows. Brief accountability episode by Raheel Sharif did not harm the institution but it strengthened the military institution but only for a brief period of time.
There are great contributions of our armed forces, the most important is that we have not yet become Syria, Egypt, Libya, Iraq & Afghanistan despite the desire and plan of our enemies.
Let’s not blame the hammer, hammer is made to hit. We must learn how to survive a hit and even hit back.
