مالیاتی دنیا زیورچ سے شروع ہوتی ہے۔ زیورچ کے بینک صبح نو بج کھلتے ہیں۔اس کے بعد فرینکفرٹ اورپھر لندن کے بینک کھل جاتے ہیں۔بعد دوپہر پہلے زیورچ بند ہوتا ہے، پھر فرینکفرٹ اور آخر میں لندن۔اس اثنا ء میں نیویارک کھل جاتا ہے اور لندن اپنے مالیاتی امور نیو یارک کے سپرد کر دیتا ہے۔نیو یارک بند ہونے سے قبل اپنے مالیات سان فرانسسکو کے حوالے کر چکا ہوتا ہے۔اس کے بعد دنیا پر رات کا سیاہ پردہ پڑ جاتا ہے۔اگلی صبح سویس وقت کے مطابق نو بجے سویٹزرلینڈ کے بینک کھل جاتے ہیں۔اگر ہم بیچ میں سنگاپور کو ڈالیں تو وہ سان فرانسسکو کی بندش سے پہلے مالیاتی رقوم اٹھا لے گا اور جب سنگا پور بند ہوگا تو زیورچ کو مالیاتی امور سونپ دے گا۔یوں پہلی بار دنیا میں مالیات او ربینکنگ کا چوبیس گھنٹےخدمات کا آغاز ہو گیا۔اس طرح ایشیا میں سنگاپور مالیات کا مرکز بن گیا۔
How Singapore became Financial Centre of Asia

Here is a simple vision and strategy by Lee Kuan to make Singapore the financial centre of Asia years ago.
“Look here, the financial world begins in Zurich. Zurich banks open at 9 o’clock in the morning, later Frankfurt, later London. In the afternoon Zurich closes, then Frankfurt and London. In the meantime, New York is open. So London hands over financial money traffic to New York. In the afternoon New York closes; they had already handed over to San Francisco. When San Francisco closes in the afternoon, the world is covered with a veil. Nothing happens until next day, 9:00 am Swiss time, then the Swiss banks open. If we put Singapore in between, before San Francisco closes, Singapore would have taken over. And when Singapore closes, it would have handed over to Zurich. Then, for the first time since creation, we will have a 24-hour round the world service in money and banking.”
