He became the first Pakistani to score “Ten Thousand” runs in test cricket. All the names mentioned above have played more matches than Younis khan but they failed to achieve this hallmark. He became the 13th man in the history of the game to score 10000 runs, leaving behind thousand others.
Younis has a batting average better than, Lara, Ponting, Miandad, Inzamam, Chanderpaul, Jayawardena, Dravid, Steve Waugh, Border and many many more. Younis holds the record for most hundreds by a Pakistani. He became the only person to score hundreds in 11 different countries. The only Pakistani to score hundreds against all test playing nations. Has the best conversion ratio from 90’s to 100. Did that 31 times and was dismissed in the 90’s only once in his entire career.
He has scored 5 hundreds in the fourth innings of a test match, and is the only player to do so. The only man in 90 years to compile 3 consecutive hundreds against Australia. The only man in 40 years to score twin centuries in a test against Australia.
129 catches, 4 man of the series awards, 10 man of the match awards. Over 10000 runs in test cricket, a hundred on test debut, 34 test hundreds, 6 double hundreds and a triple hundred to his credit, Yes Younis Khan is special.
