سوشل میڈیا پر ایک پُر فریب میسیج گردش کر رہا ہے اور معصوم لوگ اس کو سوشل میڈیا کے فورم پر بلا سوچے سمجھے فارورڈ کر رہے ہیں۔اب کی بار کہا جارہا ہے کہ واٹس ایپ کا ایک گروپ داعش سے منسلک ہیں۔
موقعے کی مناسبت سے میں واٹس ایپ پر” کیا کرنا ہے اور کیا نہیں کرنا “پر کچھ روشنی ڈالنا چاہتا ہوں۔
ہر وہ شخص جس کے پاس آپ کا موبائل فون نمبر ہے آپ کو واٹس ایپ کے گروپ میں شامل کر سکتا ہےمگر آپ کے پاس اس بھیجنے والے کو بلاک کرنے، رپورٹ کرنے یا اُس کی درخواست قبول کرنے یا رد کرنے کا اختیار ہوتا ہے۔آپ گروپ سے کسی بھی وقت نکل سکتے ہیں یا اُس گروپ کو بلاک کر سکتے ہیں۔ واٹس ایپ پر غیر ضروری گروپ کو شناخت کرنے کا اپنا طریقہ کار ہے۔
عمومی طور پر بہتر ہوگا کہ گروپ کی پرائیویسی کا احترام کیا جائے اور نامعلوم گروپ کو قبول کرنے اور اس میں شمولیت سے احتراز کرنا چاہئے۔اسی طرح ایسے آوارہ گرد گروپوں سے بھی دور رہنا چاہئے جن کا نہ کوئی مقصد ہے نہ کوئی شناخت۔کسی گروپ میں آپ کی شمولیت اس بات سے مشروط ہونی چاہئے کہ آپ اُس گروپ ایڈمن سے کتنے شناسا ہیں۔کوئی بہت پھیلا ہوا بے مہار گروپ آپ کی پرائیویسی کو خاطر میں نہ لاتے ہوئے آپ کی معلومات غیر ضروری اور نا پسندیدہ افراد کو فراہم کر سکتا ہے۔اس کے علاوہ آپ پر ناپسندیدہ میلوں کا طوفان امڈ آئے گا۔اچھے گروپ کے طور طریقے پہلے سے وضع ہونے چاہئیں تا کہ گروپ کی افادیت سے سب مستفید ہوں۔صبح بخیر اور شب بخیر جیسے غیر ضروری پیغامات ہر ایک کو ارسال کرنے سے پرہیز کریں اس طرح نیٹ پر غیر ضروری ٹریفک میں نمایاں کمی ہوگی اور لوگوں کوبہترمواد پڑھنے کو ملے گا۔
کسی کی اجازت ملے بغیر اس کو اپنے دوستوں کی فہرست میں کبھی بھی شامل نہ کریں۔یہ اخلاقیات کا معاملہ ہے اور ہمیں کسی کی پرائیویسی میں نقب لگانے کا حق نہیں۔

This is another Hoax.

There is again a hoax message on social media and innocent people are just forwarding around the same message everywhere on social media forums. This time it is about a WhatsApp group linked with Daesh.
I take this opportunity to throw some light on WhatsApp and some Do’s and Don’ts.
You can be included by anyone in a WhatsApp group who knows your number but you have the option to block, report or accept the sender. You can even exit anytime later or even block the group. There is a report mechanism to identify spam groups on WhatsApp.
As a general advise to respect privacy of group, we should never join or accept any unknown group. Also we should avoid becoming part of groups which are just thrown in the air without explaining its purpose and introduction of Admin at least. Your joining a group must depend on how well you know the group admin. Becoming part of uncontrolled & widespread group can compromise your privacy and identity to unwanted and undesirable people. At the same time you will be exposed to undesirable posts. A group must set some criteria or rules of the game to make the group productive for everyone. Avoid good morning or good night message to reduce the load of traffic on everybody’s mobile and allowing people to read worthwhile content.
One should never include a person without asking his permission. It’s a ethical issue, we have no right to trespass anybody’s privacy.
