Controversial model Qandeel Baloch is among the several Pakistani artistes who have met unnatural death over the years.

Here follows the list of some of the more eminent Pakistani show business personalities who had departed for their eternal abodes owing to unnatural reasons: Legendary Pakistani film industry hero Sultan Rahi, who had starred in over 700 Punjabi and Urdu films, was killed near Gujranwala on the GT Road on the night of January 9, 1996 by unknown men while he was returning to Lahore from Islamabad. His death had brought the Pakistani cinema to its knees because of the films Rahi had left incomplete.

Superb comedian Rafih Khawar Nannah had committed suicide in Lahore on June 2, 1986. Despite the dominance of Sultan Rahi and action films, the mostly comic act of the versatile Nannah and Ali Ejaz had gained immense popularity in the first half of the ’80s, and the duo was seen in more than 50 movies in the main lead in few years that followed.

Pretty tinsel town actress Naina, known for her deep blue eyes, was shot dead in Lahore in 1996. Excellent dancer and Punjabi film actress Niggo was allegedly killed at her mother’s house by her estranged husband a film producer Khawaja Mazhar. According to the Daily Jang Karachi, Niggo was killed on January 5, 1972. Almost the first choice of any film producer as a Mujra dancer in the late 60s, Niggo had shot to fame instantly.

Dazing film beauty Nadira was gunned down in Lahore on August 6, 1995, allegedly by her husband. Singer Amjad Sabri was recently shot dead in Karachi on June 22, 2016.

Pashto actress Shamshad alias Yasmeen Khan, famous for her role in film “Dulhan Aik Raat Ki,” was killed by her husband Arifullah on April 15, 1999 in Peshawar.

Lollywood actors Aslam Pervaiz and Iqbal Hasan had succumbed to injuries caused by a car accident on November 21, 1984.

Renowned Pashto language singer Ghazala Javed was shot dead along with her father in Peshawar in the month of June 2012 in Peshawar.

TV and film actress Najma Mehboob had lost her life unnaturally during shooting of film “Rickshaw driver” on December 6, 1983 in a train accident in Lahore. She was trying to save a child walking on a railway track while a train was speeding in.

Folk singer Alam Lohar had died in a car accident on July 3, 1979.

Stage comedian Ghiasuddin alias Shauki Khan had expired in a road mishap near Kasur city on February 22, 2003. Also killed in the accident was a lesser-known stage actress Aneela.

A popular female Pashto singer Gulnar alias Muskan was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Peshawar in the month of December 2013.

A Quetta-based popular Pashtun singer and television actress Yasmeen Gul was found dead at her home in November 2010.

Model and stage dancer Sangam Rana’s body was found hanging by the ceiling fan in December, 2015 in Lahore.

Talented Lollywood sensation Marvi was murdered at Karachi’s Tariq Road on August 25, 1998.

TV actress Sana Khan, known for her role in serial “Parchaiyan,” had died in a car accident at Jamshoro on March 7, 2014.
