I saw the image of a young lady shown as dead and found in a jungle on social media a few days back and then I saw image spreading with each share on social media. We must ask a few questions from ourselves: who took this picture and who shared this picture? There is no mention of any location. There is no mention of any nearby Police Station who should be the right authority to address the incident. Why picture has to be taken in such helpless posture of a diseased person?Caption of image was to share this image as much as possible to allow her near and dear to identify her and reach her dead body.The image was disheartening, painful and depressing. I am sure, now this picture will be shared on social media for next many years under a noble cause. It’s not at all a suitable way to search identity of a dead person. If such an unfortunate incident has happened, authorities can easily search through NADRA(Thumb impression or NIC both are helpful). As a last resort, if there is no way to identify the deceased person, a more appropriate picture of deceased person can be taken by police authorities and official search can be initiated. I do not understand why such picture is being shared on social media under a noble cause. It is only creating fear, insecurity, pain & depression without achieving anything else. Such images are not good for children and weak hearts. Lastly, we are humiliating a departed soul.
Please now decide yourself whether this message should be shared or the depressing and painful image. We need to educate our society on digital values.
Sharing is not always Caring.

چند روز پہلے مجھے کسی جنگل میں مرنے والی ایک جوان سال خاتون کی تصویر سوشل میڈیا پر دیکھنے کا اتفاق ہوا۔پھر میں نے دیکھا کہ سوشل میڈیا پر وہ تصویر ہاتھوں ہاتھ پھیل رہی ہے۔ہمیں خود سے یہ سوال پوچھنے چاہئے کہ یہ تصویر کس نے کھینچی اور اس کو آگے کس نے پھیلایا؟اُس مقام کا بھی کہیں ذکر نہیں نہ اس قریبی تھانے کا ذکر ہے جس کو اس واقعے کا پتہ ہونا چاہئے تھا۔آخر اس بیچارگی کے انداز میں مرنے والی کی تصویر کیوں کھینچی گئی۔تصویر کے نیچے لکھی عبارت کا مقصد اطلاع دینا تھا تاکہ اس کے قریبی لواحقین آکر ا س نعش کی شناخت کر سکیں۔تصویر نہائت دلدوز، مایوس کن اور تکلیف دہ تھی۔یہ کسی مرنے والے کی شناخت کا معقول طریقہ نہیں۔اگر اس طرح کا کوئی نا خوشگوار واقعہ ہو جائے تو سرکاری اہلکار انگلیوں کے نشانات اور شناختی کارڈکی مدد سے نادرا سے شناخت کرا سکتے ہیں۔اگر کوئی چارہ نہ ہو تو پولیس حکام نعش کی بہتر انداز میں تصویر بنوا کر تفتیش کا آغازکر سکتے ہیں۔میرا نہیں خیال کہ شناخت کی غرض سے اس طرح کی تصویر کی سوشل میڈیا پر ڈالنا کار خیر میں شمار ہو گا۔اس سے خوف، عدم تحفظ اور مایوسی پھیلنے کے علاوہ کوئی مقصد حاصل نہیں ہوگا۔اس طرح کی تصاویر چھوٹے بچوں اور کمزور دل افراد کے لئے بھی مناسب نہیں۔آخری بات یہ کہ اس طرح ہم مرنے والے کی روح کو بھی تکلیف پہنچاتے ہیں۔
آپ براہ کرم خود فیصلہ کیجئے کہ اس پیغام کو بڑھایا جائے یا مایوس کن اور تکلیف دہ تصاویر کوآگے پھیلایا جائے۔ہمیں چاہئے کہ ڈیجیٹل اقدار کے بارے سوسائٹی کو آگاہی دیں۔
