In my humble opinion which can be contradicted by anyone, Writer Babar Sattar seem to be unaware from some basic ground realities on some of the subjects he dwelled upon. My consistent concern with traditional media arise out of this example. A good English, attachment of Harvard or Oxford label & even experienced journalistic experience may still be far from reality. Reality checks never happens at elite schools or traditional information forums, they come from common man who come across reality checks every day. Traditional journalism & elite school of thought are already compromised most of the time under various agendas & influence.To relate my observation on this article, read my analysis below on this article.
1. CPEC would have never existed if guarantee & assurance had not come from Army & more specifically from Raheel Sharif. Reason is simple, sheer incompetence & corruption of our civilian setup is evident, no breakthrough project can come up without compromises, corruption & incompetence. For China, CPEC is not only a game changer, it is first phase of One Belt, One Road project by China to create alternate trade routes which will break the US Maritime monopoly. Calling it a simple project probably is like underestimating the power behind this vision. It’s not a project, it’s a game changer, it’s monopoly breaker, it’s new world order. From day one, it has tremendous security & political threats and in case of Pakistan, it is equivalent to battle preparedness against the vicious desires from India to USA. CPEC could not be conceived, planned or implemented without accepting this battle, so let’s not blur our sight on the built in security dynamics of ” Game Changer” with our ignorance.
2. It is amazing to see when every writer is bounded by the tremendous public popularity of Raheel Sharif to write all praise on his character & ability, yet the writer comes back with the mention of all blunders made in last 66 years whether under military or civilian rule, and attach them with the glorious tale of Raheel Sharif, just to cast doubt primarily on the ability of Military.
If OBL was a disaster, who gave extension to Gen Kiani?
If East Pakistan was a political blunder, what was the role of Bhutto in the whole drama?
If Saleem Shahzad murder case is your concern, how conveniently you forget Wali Babar murder case, even the media group of Wali Babar has forgotten; A unique murder case where all 5 witnesses were murdered one after the other.
If your country is under 4th Generation warfare, & our rulers host & greet responsible ones at their home, we expect somebody to stand up with a State Union Address to truly represent nation
It’s like a cricket team, where a good player comes as one down to save his weak batting from furious spell of fast bowlers, Bowl as strike bowler, Coach & train untrained team members, inspire & lead with self example, he is not undermining roles of other players, he is complementing the weaknesses of weak players to save the team from humiliating defeat.
Alas! Democracy allows a ship to sink even if somebody can save it from sinking on the pretext rules of democracy only allow the captain of ship to save the ship, even if captain is sleeping or gutless or incompetent? Anybody jumping to save the ship is reminded by elite school of thought not to save the ship & let the institution build. What is the cause of institution left if ship is already sunk.
Raheel Sharif had to come forward as an opener, as a strike bowler, as a coach, as a representative, as a fighter, as a leader to save the nation who is dying under the weak democratic infrastructure, corrupt & incompetent governance, toothless foreign policy, absence of inspiration, silence of rulers when enemy attacks. My dear writer it is not undermining other institution, it is saving you, it is saving me, it is saving our family, it is saving our children & future. Alas! Knowledge & pen may help the country & not help the enemy.
Let us enlighten nation on threats, lets not make them feel secure when they are not.

میری ادنیٰ رائے میں، جس سے کوئی بھی اختلاف کر سکتا ہے، بابر ستار جن موضوعات پر اظہار خیال کرتے ہیں ان کی بنیادی زمینی حقائق سے بے خبر لگتے ہیں۔اس ایک مثال روائتی میڈیا کے بارے میرے تحفظات ہیں کہ صحافی تجربہ کے ساتھ ساتھ ہاورڈ اور آکسفورڈ کی ٹھپہ لگی عمدہ انگریزی تحریر بھی حقائق کے منافی ہو سکتی ہے کیونکہ روایتی میڈیا ذرائع اور اشرافیہ کی درسگاہوں میں حقائق کی اس طرح پرکھ نہیں ہو سکتی جس طرح عام شہری روزمرہ معاملات میں حقائق کا سامنا کرتا ہے۔روائتی صحافت اور اشرافیہ کا مکتبہ فکرمختلف ایجنڈوں کے تحت پہلے ہی کئی معاملات پر سمجھوتہ کر چکے ہیں۔میرے تجزئیے کو درج ذیل موضوعات کے حوالے سے ملاحظہ فرمائیں:
1۔اگر فوج بالخصوص راحیل شریف نے سی پیک منصوبے کی ضمانت نہ دی ہوتی تو اس منصوبے کا وجود بھی نہ ہوتا۔اس کی سادہ سی وجہ ہمارے سول ڈھانچے کی نا اہلی اور بد عنوانی ہے جہاں سودے بازی، کرپشن اور نا اہلی کےبغیرکوئی منصوبہ مکمل نہیں ہو سکتا۔چین کے لئے سی پیک صرف ایک گیم چینجر ہی نہیں ہے بلکہ یہ متبادل راستے کا ایک پٹی ایک سڑک کےمنصوبہ پہلا مرحلہ ہے جو امر یکی جہازرانی کی اجارہ داری ختم کر دے گا۔اس کو عام منصوبہ کہنا اس کے پیچھے چھپی دوراندیشی سےگریز ہوگا۔ یہ کایا پلٹ منصوبہ اجارہ داری کا توڑ ہے اور یہ طاقت کا نیا توازن بنے گا۔پاکستان کے حوالے سے اس منصوبے کو پہلے دن سے ہی شدید حفاظتی اور سیاسی خطرات لاحق ہیں۔بھارت اور امریکہ کے شیطانی عزائم سے اس کی حفاظت جنگی تیاری کے مترادف ہے۔جنگی مقابلے کے جنون کے بغیرسی پیک منصوبے کی سوچ، منصوبہ بندی اور تکمیل ممکن نہیں ہو سکتی تھی۔ اس عظیم منصوبے کی حفاظت کے تمام عوامل سے غفلت کے ہم متحمل نہیں ہو سکتے۔
2۔یہ جان کر خوشی ہوتی ہے کہ ہر لکھنے پڑھنے والا فرد راحیل شریف کی عوامی پذیرائی کا معترف اور ان کے کردار اور بہادری کے گن گاتا ہے۔اس کے باوجود مضمون نگار پچھلے چھیاسٹھ سال کےسول اور فوجی ادوار کی کوتاہیوں کی تان راحیل شریف کی بہادری کی داستان پر اس لئے توڑتے ہیں تاکہ فوج کی دفاعی اہلیت پر تنقیدکی جا سکے۔
اگر اپریشن بن لادن تباہی کا باعث تھا تو جنرل کیانی کو توسیع کس نے دی؟
اگر مشرقی پاکستان کی علیحدگی فاش سیاسی غلطی تھی تو اس تمام افسانے میں بھٹو کا کیا کردار تھا؟
اگر سلیم شہزاد قتل ایک المیہ ہے تو ولی خان بابر کے قتل کو کیوں با آسانی بھلادیا گیاحتٰی کہ اس کے ادارے نے بھی اسے فراموش کردیا ہے۔اپنی طرز کا واحد کیس ہے جس کے پانچ گواہوں کو ایک ایک کرکے قتل کر دیا گیا۔
اگر آپ کا ملک چار نسلوں سے حالت جنگ میں ہے اور ہمارے حکمران اس کے ذمہ داروں کی اپنے گھر دعوتوں میں عزت افرائی کرتے ہیں ۔یہ توقع ہے کہ کوئی تو ہوگا جو عوام کا نمائندہ بن پر قوم سے خطاب کرےگا۔
ایک کرکٹ ٹیم کی طرح جب کوئی دوسرے نمبر پر بیٹنگ کرکے تیز باولر کی طوفانی گیندوں کا سامنا کرتاہے، تباہ کن باولنگ کرتا ہے، ٹیم کی تربیت اور کوچنگ کرتاہے،ٹیم کی مثالی قیادت کرتا ہے تو وہ دوسرے کھلاڑیوں کی جگہ نہیں لے رہا کرتا بلکہ کمزور کھلاڑیوں کا حوصلہ بڑھا کر ٹیم کو ذلت آمیز شکست سے بچاتا ہے۔
افسوس اگر جمہوری جہاز ڈوب رہا ہو توجمہوریت اسے ڈوبنے دیتی ہے با وجود اس کے کہ کوئی اس کو بچا سکتا ہوکیونکہ جمہوریت کی نیّا کو ڈوبنے سے بچانےکا اختیار صرف جہاز کے کپتان کے پا س ہوتا ہے چاہے کپتان سو رہا ہو، کم ہمت ہو یا نا اہل ہو۔اگر کوئی جہاز کو بچانے کے لئے چھلانگ لگادے تو اشرافیہ کہے گی کہ جہاز بچانے سے پہلے جہاز بچانے والا ادارہ قائم کیا جائے۔بھلااس وقت ادارے کا کیا کرنا ہے جب جہاز ہی ڈوب چکا ہو گا ۔
راحیل شریف کو ایک اوپنر، ایک تباہ کن باولر، ایک کوچ کی طرح آگے آنا ہوگا تاکہ ایک نمائندے، ایک بہادر کی طرح کمزور جمہوری ڈھانچے، کرپٹ اور نا اہل حکومت، بے اثر خارجہ پالیسی سے قوم کو اس وقت نجات دلا سکیں جب للکارتے دشمن کے سامنے جوش و جذبہ سے عاری حکمران چپ سادھے بیٹھے ہیں۔
محترم مضمون نگاریہ اداروں کی راہ میں رکاوٹ ڈالنا نہیں بلکہ کہ آپ کو، مجھے، ہمارے خاندان کو بچانے اور ہمارے بچوں کے مستقبل کو محفوظ کرنا ہے۔کاش ہمارا علم اور زور قلم ہمارے ملک کی حمایت کرے اور دشمن کا مددگار نہ ہو۔
آیئے ہم قوم کو خطرات سے آگاہ کریں۔جب لوگ خطرات میں گھرے ہوں تو انہیں محفوظ ہونے کا جھانسہ نہ دیں۔
